Sleek Glass Extension Crafted Into Cotswold Stone
DESCRIPTION
Tucked into a recessed corner of a traditional Cotswold stone cottage, this compact glass extension was designed to deliver maximum natural light and uninterrupted views despite its modest footprint. The client wanted the new structure to feel as though it belonged to the existing fabric of the building while still offering a clean, contemporary contrast.
To achieve this, we developed a flush-fit system by cutting the outline of the extension directly into the Cotswold stone elevations, allowing the structural glass to sit perfectly level with the stonework. This created a unique visual effect where the glass appears to emerge from the walls themselves, with no visible metal framework. Bi-folding sliding doors were incorporated to fully open the space to the garden, creating a bright, modern room with panoramic views and a seamless indoor–outdoor connection.
